As per the Employees Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, an employee has to make a specific contribution to the provident fund account and an equal contribution has also to be made by an employer under this social security scheme of EPFO and for online withdrawal of the PF amount after leaving the Job, EPFO members have to fill up a handful of Forms -PF Form 19 and Form 10-C.

PF Form 19 is filled when a member wants to go for a final settlement of his/her PF account subject to completion of 2 Months period after leaving the job.

It can be filled up both online(at EPF Member Portal) as well as offline. In case of offline, PF Form 19  can be filled up without a UAN and the member will only have to mention his/her PF account number with attestation by the Employer.

This form will be used to claim a final settlement of the PF account only. Revenue Stamp of Rs.1/- should be affixed on the Form when the member wants to get the payment by cheque and also mention the mobile number at the top of the Form.

Details Required for filling up PF Form 19.

EPF Form 19 required the following details

  1. Provident Fund Account Number & UAN
  2. Bank Account Number with IFSC Code
  3. Joining & Exit of Service 
  4. PAN Card Details
  5. Form No. 15G/15H
  6. Mode of Payment
  7. Postal Address
  8. Reason for leaving the Service
  9. Date of Joining the Establishment

However, A member has to fill in all other necessary information which includes their full postal Address, Method of Remittances (Cheque/Money Order/Bank Details). And One Rupee Revenue Stamp and the blank cancelled cheque is also required for bank account verification.

How to Fill Form 19 For PF Withdrawal Online?

1.Login to the Member Portal:

Visit the EPFO E-Sewa Member Portal and log in with your UAN and then enter the Captcha code. In case, you have forgotten your password, you can reset the same by getting OTP on your registered Mobile. If your UAN is not active and first activate your UAN.

2. VISIT ONLINE CLAIM SECTION:

After entering the website, go to the online Services and you will see that there are different types of Claims Form like 31, 19, 10C, 10-D against which you can apply easily.

3. Enter Bank Account details:

Once the section opens, you will be required to enter the correct bank account number(seeded with UAN), as a verification process.

4. Confirm terms and conditions:

5. Select Form 19/ Form 10C for Withdrawal:

You will find a dropdown menu from which you would need to choose Form 19  or Form 10C for withdrawing your PF amount. You will only be shown the option for which you are eligible.

6. Enter details and upload documents

When you select the reason for withdrawal, you would need to enter you complete address and you may need to upload your cheque/passbook details, if you have chosen an option for an advance claim, you will need to accept further terms and conditions before requesting a one time password for verification.

7. Get Aadhar OTP:

Once you have confirmed your details and accepted the terms and conditions, you would need to request an OTP which will be sent on your registered mobile. Upon entering the OTP, your claim application will be submitted.

Once you have submitted your claim, you can track the status of the PF claim by logging into your Member e-Sewa account under track claim status.  

The EPFO officials will match your data in their records with the data submitted in your online claim form. On completing their verification, they will process your claim application and the amount will be credited to the bank account linked with the UAN. Benefits of Form 19

The online process for withdrawal of PF claim with PF Form 19 does not require attestation by the employer. In addition to the above, Provident Fund Claims take only  5 days after successful submission of the online application.

 The unified Portal enables a member to withdraw the Provident Fund easily. Also, a single page composite claim form facilitates the next phase of E-Governance making public service more transparent. 

Limitations of PF Form 19

In case of online, employer attestation is no longer required for a member. The final settlement can only take place when the employer has updated the exit date of the member.  

If the date of exit is not updated, the provident Fund Department would be under the assumption that the member still works for the employer which may create obstacles in the withdrawal process. In such a situation, the member can only have access to Form 31 which is for advance withdrawal.

If it is essential for the member to ensure that the employer updates the exit of service. However, the member can update the date of exit in the UAN Portal without Employer interruption. only after two months of employment exit, 

General Instructions To Fill Form 19(As PF Norms)

  1.  Members who mention their mobile number on the form will get SMS alerts on different stages of the approval of their claim form. The members can also visit the epfindia.gov.in website to view the status of their claims through the link, Know Your Claim Status. (How to Change or add Mobile Number in EPF Account?)
  2. All the columns in the form should be filled in BLOCK LETTERS without any overwriting.
  3. Against the column, “Reason for leaving service” indicate the one applicable from the below given reasons:
  • Retired from service after attaining the age of 55 years/Attained the age of 55 years.
  • Retired on account of permanent and total incapacity for work due to Bodily/Mental
    infirmity.
  • Retired under voluntary retirement scheme
  • Migrating from India for permanent settlement abroad/taking up employment abroad.
  • Retrenched from service
  • Discharged from service on receiving compensation under the Industrial Dispute Act,
    1947.
  • Resigned-(not employed in any factory to which the Employees’ Provident Funds The scheme applies).

If the reason for leaving is the claim form should be submitted after 2 month waiting period from the date of leaving and the members should sign the certificate about non-employment under any establishment where he is having another PF Account. 

If the member is already employed in another establishment to which the Act applies, he/she should apply in Form 13 for transfer of his/her account.

EPF Form 10C Online

Form 10C is prescribed for withdrawal of pension funds subject to the following terms and and conditions:-

  1.  If the service of an employee is less than 9 Years and 5 Months, he can apply for withdrawal of pension funds and EPFO does not give interest on this Pension Fund.
  2. If any PF member leaves the job after 10 years, he can use Form 10C for Pension Scheme Certificate.

For your information, it is clarified that on the basis of the above Pension Scheme Certificate, you can claim for pension after 50 years of age. But if you avail of pension at the age of  50 years and before 58 years, it will be reduced @4% each year.

How to Fill Form 10C?

While applying for PF withdrawal, you need to fill form 10C in the way mentioned below:

  1. Name.
  2. Date of birth.
  3. Father’s name and/or husband’s name.
  4. Employer address.
  5. PF account number.
  6. Joining date with employer.
  7. Reason for leaving and date of leaving.

Fill in the given details on the second page:

  1. Date and signature, and some more details pertaining to age and account details for remittances
  2. Particular of Family and nominees
  3. Mode of remittance

Finally, fill the form with the below-given information on the third page:

  1. Date and Signature
  2. Details of wages and period of non-contributory service of a member
  3. Sum received
