PF Balance Check With UAN

Employees Provident Fund Organization has facilitated many tasks digitally – PF claim for Withdrawal, PF claim for advances, PF Balance, PF Claim for Pension, profile corrections, etc. so that the member could not be dependent upon the employer.

Now, as an employee and a member of the EPFO, you need not to wait for the  PF Slips at the end of each and every Financial Year and you check your PF balance immediately – With UAN or Without UAN.

Out of a total of 24%  PF deductions-12% of the Employee Share and 12% of the Employer share- 8.33% employer share goes into the EPS (Pension Scheme) and 3.67% has been deposited as a saving in the PF account.

However, PF Member can withdraw  8.33% share of the EPS(Employee Pension Scheme), if he leaves the job on OR before  9 Years and 5 Months or does not join any other company further. Moreover, EPFO did not give interest on this EPS amount.  However, 3.67% share earns an annual interest which is currently @ 8.50% per annum.

PF Balance Check with UAN Number

12 digit UAN number, which is allotted to each PF member should be activated on the EPFO portal. If the UAN is not activated, you can activate the UAN by visiting the PF Member Portal E-sewa.

As soon as the PF member is able to log in to the UAN on the EPF Member portal, he will have to wait for 72 Hrs. minimum OR maximum 10-12 days and thereafter he will be able to log in to their account on the EPFO portal. 

EPF Balance Check With UAN- EPF Passbook

PF members can download  or print the EPF passbook from the official website of EPFO by following up these steps :

  1. The member passbook is available at epfindia.gov.in
  2. Click “for Employees” “under our services”.
  3. Select the  Member Passbook and click on the same.
  4. This webpage will redirect to you on the new webpage – EPF passbook and Claim status.
  5. Then Enter the UAN and password with Captcha and thereafter you may be able to login with the new Webpage – Select Member ID.
  6. After completion of the above process, 3 icons will be opened in front of you- View passbook(yearly), View claim status and View passbook(old-full).
  7. Finally, PF Member will be able to access their passbook, as per their need and know the PF balance in a detailed way i.e from the Joining to till now.

Please note that PF Member Portal E-Sewa is used for transaction services only such as  UAN Activation, Mobile and Profile update, KYC details update and lodging claims – withdrawal and advances etc.

Mostly, the user has been confused, how to generate a login password on PF Member Sewa Portal and Passbook login?

Do not be confused, as the password for both applications will remain the same but after generation of password at PF member Sewa portal, it will take 6-7 days or max. 10 days for accessing the passbook thereafter.

PF Balance Check with UAN- Registered Mobile

In this method also, as mentioned above, the UAN number should be activated on the PF Member portal, it does not, you cannot avail of this service.EPF balance can be known by giving a missed call: Give a missed call on  011-229014016 by using your registered mobile number and after 2-3 minutes, you will get all the details of your PF balance.

PF Balance Check With UAN- By SMS

If your UAN is registered at the Member Portal of EPFO, you can get the details of your latest PF contribution and balance by sending an SMS to 7738299899.  You have to send a message: EPFOHO UAN ENG. ‘ENG’ is the first 3 characters of the preferred language, so if you want to receive the message in Marathi, then type in EPFO HO UAN MAR.

Please note that the above facility is available in 10 languages English (default), Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali. The SMS  must be sent from the Registered Mobile Number of UAN.

EPFO also send details of members available in its records so make sure that your UAN is seeded with your bank a/c Aadhar and  PAN, otherwise, ask your employer to put all your details in the UAN.

PF Balance Check with UAN- UMANG App

PF members can check also PF balance on smartphones by using  Umang App.  For downloading this UMANG App, visit the google play store and download the same.

How to Register on UMANG App?

The following steps are given below for new user registration on UMANG App:-

Step 1. : After downloading the UMANG App, click on the  “Register option”

Step2: Now, you will be redirected to the Mobile number verification page. Enter your Mobile Number for the generation of an OTP so that the registration process to be completed.   

Step3: Enter your OTP on the webpage and further you will be asked to set an MPIN and after setting the MPIN, your registration is complete and you can view the UMANG App Home Page.  This page displays a shortlist of recently opened services available on this App.

How to login UMANG App?

Step4. After downloading the app, click on the tab EPFO on the menu.

Step5. Continue to select on the employee-centric services tab.

Step6. Key in your EPF UAN and an OTP sent to your PF account registered mobile number.

Step7. Now you can log in and place your request.

An employee can view his PF balance on his registered Mobile by downloading UMANG App from the Google Play Store. 

The government of India had launched this facility for providing all types of services in a single place  – EPF Pass Book, raise Claim and even track claims by using this App.  To install this APP on Mobile, you need to complete a single time registration using your Mobile Phone.

EPF Balance Check using EPFO Grievance Portal

EPFO  has also set up a grievance portal for the resolution of the problems of PF Members.  In case, if any member has had no UAN OR has PF account Number only, in this situation, the UAN holder can use the above methods for knowing their PF balance.

Now PF member has left the single way to lodge a complaint on EPFO Grievance Cell to know their PF balance/ any other issue by selecting other option of  EPF Grievance Management System.

If the PF member has had UAN, then you will have to enter your UAN and lodge your grievance for resolution.

As soon as you will lodge your grievance, a grievance registration number will be generated and you can track the status of your grievance at any time.

However, It will take 2-3 days for the resolution of the problem and even, if you are not satisfied with the reply of EPFO, you can lodge the complaint at the regional office level on the same registration number.
